General Laborer

ROLE SUMMARY

The role is responsible for various manual labor tasks and support operations in the warehouse. General labor duties will include collecting trash, debris, and other waste to keep the site clean and safe, handle power tools and materials.

DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to cleaning procedures in accordance with GMP standards and Health and Safety guidelines
• Clean up worksites from obsolete, damage, and/ or expired material.
• Collect waste and recyclable materials and dispose of them.
• Assist in the cleaning of any major spills of liquid or dry product as needed
• Use industrial cleaning equipment (scrapers, vacuums, scrub machine, duster) to clean floors, ceilings and walls.
• Assist warehouse operations team on-site
• Handle and transport materials (e.g. pallet of product)
• Use power tools and machinery as needed
• Complete GMP and SOP training prior to starting any task
• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks (e.g. palletize product and stacking up goods)
• Notify supervisors and or managers of major or minor repairs that are required.
• Report issues with product, equipment or unsafe conditions
• Perform a variety of physically demanding duties according to standard work instructions, such as manually loading and unloading goods
• Demonstrates and maintains professional interpersonal skills when dealing with internal and external personnel
• Follows all company safety, security and housekeeping protocols. Respects; customers, company, property and equipment
• Proactive in accident & incident prevention; complete applicable reports promptly and accurately when required
• May be required to perform other duties outside of their normal responsibilities as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATIONS:

• Highschool Diploma and or relevant experience to the role

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
• Excellent communication in English (verbal and written)
• Proven ability to work well both independently and as part of a team required
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and safety regulations within business unit
• Apprenticeship or specialization is an asset, but not necessary
• Demonstrates ability to be cooperative, inclusive, and respectful of others within the work environment.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

WALKING:

May be required to perform 6-7 hours per shift.

STANDING:

May be required to perform 3-4 hours per shift.

SITTING:

May be required to perform 2-3 hours per shift.

LIFT FLOOR TO WAIST:

Required 2-3 hours per shift not consecutive up to 40kg.

LIFT WAIST TO SHOULDER:

Required 2-3 hours per shift not consecutive up to 40kg.

STAIR CLIMBING:

May be required, up to 6 steps.

ABILITY TO USE HANDS:

Required to Hold; Grip; type; write.

· Back: able to bend and twist Back 3 - 4 hours per shift but not repetitive

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
