General Labourer (Field Installation) and Team Leads
Mesh Installation
PURPOSE/SUMMARY
Contribute to successful Genics operations by carrying out wood treatments, installation services, as well as inspection and testing services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain, service, and set up equipment as required
- Working in wildfire areas
- Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues as they arise while keeping open communication with engineers, rig personnel, and supervisors
- Maintain strong business relationship with all clients and stakeholders; respond to customer concerns in a prompt and efficient manner
- Diagnose problems and advise operators on how to properly maintain equipment
- Maintain records of services performed
- Adhere to all Genics policies and procedures (Vehicle, safety, correspondence, housekeeping)
- Represent Genics in a professional manner at all times
- May be required to deliver hotshot requests and install equipment on site
- Upon supervisor request, you will be required to work in the shop occasionally
- You will be required to travel frequently to assigned customer sites.
- Other duties as assigned
- Willing to work away from home for extended periods of time.
- Team Leads – drive crew to location, arrange daily scope of work, collect and submit data daily, assisting with logistics
REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
- Valid Drivers License with acceptable drivers abstract are required
- Valid H2S Alive
- Valid Standard First Aid with CPR
- Ability to haul a trailer, an asset
- Must have steel toed work boots (CSA approved and OHM rated)
- Work both shop and field days
- Work in various elemental conditions, e.g. rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- May be required to perform repetitive heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
- Mechanical aptitude, experience with a variety of hand tools.
- Experience driving ATV’s
- Able to perform outdoor physical labour (able to climb ladders, lift 50 lbs, work in all outdoor conditions)
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
CONTRACT DETAILS
- This is a contract role from April to December.
- Limited May-August contracts available for post-secondary students
- Shared accommodations and LOA provided while working out of town.
- Location: Out of town work across Western Canada
- Shift rotations: 6 days on 1 day off at site; 10 hours/shift
- Opportunity for overtime
- On-site training provided
- SBS training provided
- All PPE with the exception of work boots provided
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Salary: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay
