General Laborer

Global Fusion Coating Inc. specialize in the application of high-performance industrial coating systems to metallic steel pipe, fittings or structures. The successful candidate will have a general understanding of tools and equipment. They will be trained on proper operation of all equipment. Communication will be a huge part of this job. Learning and understanding the requirements for each client will be essential to make the job successful.

Job Duties& Responsibilities:

· Participate and comply with COR Safety Management System Policies

· Adhere to company ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements

· Visually inspect workpieces for defects

· Follow the company’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Policy and COR HSE Program

· Perform basic equipment maintenance (i.e. equipment cleaning, housekeeping, replacing consumables).

· Ability to work outdoors (hot/cold conditions)

· Perform Pre-use inspections of equipment

· Operate Overhead crane, forklift and/or Skid-Steer to move items into shop and yard

· Coordinate with supervisor and prepare necessary paperwork

· Ensure safe handling of all materials.

· Monitor loading/offloading of materials

· Work independently and be self-motivated

· Able to work within deadlines

· Maintain a clean workplace

· Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Experience Required:

· Valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers license and reliable transportation

· Working knowledge of materials, processes, and shop practices.

· Fluent in English

· Basic knowledge of hand and power tools

· Ability to manually lift 50 lbs. floor to waist

· Basic math skills

· Reading skills (Basic instructional and technical information)

· Must be flexible to work weekend shifts when required

· Punctuality and attendance are important to this position

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $16.00 per hour
