Reporting to the Operations Manager the General Superintendent leads and provides support in assigned areas to field level operations. The General Superintendent works closely with Field Supervisors and clients to ensure that all work is completed safely and efficiently while adhering to company as well as client policies and procedures at all times. The position requires close communication with Sales on all potential work and in most cases will act as the initial contact between Company and client on any field related operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Compile all required information from client when necessary, prior to coordination of field work
Coordinate crew and equipment needs on a job-to-job basis
Coordinate and communicate with and between trucking dispatch and supervisors on a daily basis
Create detailed dispatch with all required information and communicate information with all required parties (eg, trucking, dispatch, Field Supervisor)
Monitor job progress daily with Field Supervisors and provide guidance and support when needed
Work closely with Supervisors and Maintenance department on equipment issues
Promote and encourage professionalism at all times at the field level
Work closely with HSE Department on compliance at the field level of company/client policies and procedures
Maintain and develop corporate image and reputation, and protect and develop the company’s brands and services at all times
Make regular site visits to ensure compliance as well as maintain company/client relationships
Regularly attend any client conducted meetings when needed
Assist in recruitment of new employees
Implement and assist training initiatives for new employees at the field level
Monitor and schedule days off requests by field employees.
Daily communication with Field Supervisors, ensuring all required paperwork is completed correctly and completely
Facilitate and participate in weekly meetings with Supervisors
Address and investigate any employee/customer concerns
Assist the administrative staff with questions or concerns as needed
Complete performance reviews on field level employees as required
Compile reports and updates on operations as requested from upper management

Experience Requirements:
A minimum of 3 to5 years supervisory/project management and /or professional experience with experience in Construction and/or Oilfield
Supervisory experience in construction
Bilingual in both French/English - Mandatory
Bridge and Matting product knowledge a definite asset
Education Requirements:
Leadership/Management diploma or degree an asset
Courses or seminars on supervision, safety, teaching, facilitation or management an asset
Safety tickets an asset
