General Surgeon

A General Surgery opportunity is available in beautiful Port Alberni based at the West Coast General Hospital with two other General Surgeons.

West Coast General Hospital, constructed in 2001 is a modern facility with 43 acute care beds and a 3-bed ICU.

Services include 24-hour emergency room, ambulatory care, acute medical/surgical and psychiatry services, cardio pulmonary, diabetes education, laboratory, medical imaging, nutrition counseling, pharmacy and physiotherapy services.

Clinical specialists include anesthesiology, general surgery, urology, obstetrics/gynecology, internal medicine, pediatrics and radiology.

The ideal candidate will have a wide base of general surgery experience who is able to handle emergency and elective workload. Mandatory Endoscopy skills are needed. Additional specialist support is available in the nearby communities of Nanaimo and Victoria.
