Geological Technician

Workforce Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Geological Technicianto join our clients exploration team! Reporting to Exploration Manager the Geological Technical supports the geology team for the regional exploration diamond drilling programs. The Geological Technician is also responsible to adhere to safety standards and ensure the core shack is functional.

Responsibilities:

• Participating in the daily toolbox meetings
• Operate tools such as core cutting saw, skid steer, drills etc.
• Consistently moving core samples to and from cut shack
• Label core boxes
• Organize exterior storage area
• Kept interior and exterior of core shack clean and safe and keeps good housekeeping standards in his work area
• Recover, measure, and record geotechnical data from drill core (fracture count, orientation etc)
• Follow up and discuss with supervisor onsite any questions and/or doubts

Requirements:

• Physical ability to manipulate charges of about 50 pounds regularly
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
• Experience in sawing core and core shack duties is considered an asset
• Geotechnical logging experience is considered an asset
• Prior experience working with oriented core is considered an asset
• Highly organized and motivated
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
• Good written and oral communication

Schedule: TBD, weekend and evening work may be required
