Geotechnical Engineering Co-Op Student - Nanaimo

WSP has a new opportunity for a geotechnical / geological engineering intern to join our Ground Engineering team based in Nanaimo.
As a student, you will provide supervised support to intermediate and senior geotechnical engineers on a wide variety of projects throughout Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
Your day to day would include:

• Site reconnaissance, inspections and observations;
• Assisting our laboratory personnel with laboratory testing;
• Assist our team in carrying out field work, such as supervising drill rigs and/or excavators, logging boreholes and soil sampling;
• Using analytical software to prepare geotechnical analyses;

Requirements:

• Student in civil/geotechnical/geological engineering or geoscience program
• Valid Driver's license;
• Eligible to work in Canada;
• 1 or 2 internships completed (an asset);
• Interest in the geotechnical and geological field;
• Willingness to travel for several days for field work;
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing, in English;
