GIS Technician I

Position Overview
The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) is now accepting applications for a temporary full-time GIS Technician Iposition based out of its Salmon Arm, BC office for a term of April 15, 2024 to August 30, 2024.
Under the general direction of the Manager, Information Technology, the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician I performs a variety of digital mapping and report generating functions for the parcel and house data geographic features and attributes information, and assists with GIS daily activities.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized post-secondary diploma in geography, geographic information systems technology, information technology or a related field.
- A minimum one (1) year related experience, preferably in a unionized, local government environment.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Additional Information
Position Type: Temporary full time (35 hour work week)
Term: April 15, 2024 to August 30, 2024
Union: CUPE Local 1908
Salary Range: $2,160.94 to $2,377.18 bi-weekly (January 2024 rates)
Hours of Work: Typical hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
(Option to work an additional half hour and participate in flex schedule.)
Employees are required to show proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment with the CSRD prior to their start date (Policy A-84).
