DUTIES:

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Global Classroom Coordinator to oversee and manage the seamless integration of technology and learning methodologies in our Flexible learning space, the Global Classroom. The incumbent will support facilitation of an engaging and productive learning environment for both in-person and remote students/attendees, ensuring the smooth operation of technology, and supporting faculty in utilizing HyFlex tools effectively. The Global Classroom Coordinator will support both faculty and DC events in the Global Classroom.

Flexible learning space support

  • Provide training and assistance to educators in using Flexible tools, approved for use at DC, and strategies effectively.
  • Offer guidance on best practices for facilitating in a Flexible setting to DC partners.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues to ensure uninterrupted learning experiences, escalate to IT Services as required.
  • Assist with livestreaming and recording.

Administrative Coordination

  • Support coordination of scheduling and logistics for Flexible classes and DC events.
  • Liase with classroom strategic partners, such as, communication to guest speakers and developing a global database of potential speakers.
  • Assist with technical testing, in collaboration with ITS.

Post-production

  • Prepare webpage content for DC events.
  • As applicable, share recorded sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a 2-year diploma or degree in Business or Computer Science.
  • At least 1 year of work experience using flexible technology/audio-visual equipment, with demonstrated success in communication.
  • Strong technical proficiency with audiovisual equipment, software, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong active listening, motivating, patience, problem solving, sensitivity, teamwork, and verbal communication skills.
  • Preference for familiarity with HyFlex teaching methodologies and technology tools (Zoom, Learning Management Systems, etc.).


Durham College requires copies of educational credentials as confirmation of completion as a part of the recruitment process. Confirmation of educational credentials may include, a copy of the credential/degree, official Canadian transcripts or an official evaluation of international credentials which determines Canadian equivalency.

Required Experience

Part-time support opportunity (classification): Regular

Hours: up to a maximum of 24 hours per week; Shifts may include afternoons, evenings, or the occasional weekend.
