General Manager of Production & Fulfillment – WordJack Media.

WordJack is a Web Marketing Agency providing a complete digital marketing service to local business throughout Canada & USA. Our services span a range of disciplines including website builds, digital ad campaigns, graphic design, copy writing, social media, SEO and more. We have an excellent record of customer satisfaction and company growth and we are looking for an experienced and passionate GM of Production & Fulfilment to lead the team!

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for leading a high performing fulfillment team, tasked with producing successful digital marketing programs for our small business clients. The established team consists of ~20 professionals delivering a range of specialised services. The key focus of this role is to manage, develop and enable that team to maintain a high level of efficiency & quality, while equipping them to support our growing company.

This role involves:

• Manage a high-performing production team including writers, designers, editors, Wordpress developers, SEO specialists and campaign managers.

• Optimize our team structure to support the growth of the company. This involves hiring to manage fluctuations in workload, and cultivating a culture of cross-training and upskilling.

• Budget accountability for the production department. This includes team and resource management in line with customer growth and seeking opportunities to optimize operations.

• Identify, define and launch new digital marketing products to expand our service offering aligned to customer and business needs.

• Troubleshooting with cross functional teams to ensure efficient operational flow and/or find new solutions to meet the needs of the business.

• Leveraging the advantages of a global team allows us to exceed customer expectations. Our team is located across various time zones around the world. Answering questions or having scheduled meetings in the evening will at times be necessary.

About you

• You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing production/fulfillment teams, preferably within a Digital Media or agency organization.

• At least 5 years of experience in a marketing role or being involved in marketing projects. This should include some experience at least a few of the following disciplines: website/wordpress development, campaign management, content writing/editing, SEO and social media content creation.

• Team management experience – a track record of success in a management role, managing recruitment & HR matters and aligning a department to company KPIs.

• A strong problem solver - ability to provide guidance to members of your team, even when they are the subject matter experts and you’re still learning. You feel comfortable asking questions to gather information and make informed decisions.

• You learn new concepts quickly – especially when it comes to social media, website development, digital ad campaigns, search engine optimization. Being tech-savvy is necessary in this role.

• Be a communicative manager who emphasizes keeping their team informed, challenged, constantly developing their skills and helping them embrace change.

Job Type: Full time

Location: Flexible (although being in Canadian Pacific time would allow your timezone to overlap with colleagues in Ontario, as well as Asia).
