Golden Acre Farms is a highly organized and clean facility that takes pride in producing and packaging high-quality produce for our customers. We are looking for an energetic and friendly individual to join our growing team.
IPM Scouts monitor the health and longevity of the greenhouse crop by identifying, problem-solving and reporting data on pests and diseases. Scouts work closely with the growing team to maintain a successful IPM and disease prevention program, assisting with biological applications and chemical treatments as needed.
Daily Duties:
- Measure plant growth and production of registration areas within the greenhouse as directed by the growers
- Complete daily irrigation checks and weekly sampling
- Identify pests and diseased crops in the greenhouse and mark their location and severity of presence
- Monitor all pest and disease activity within the greenhouse each week
- Work with the IPM Team to problem solve and create solutions for the IPM Program
- Identify and understand biological insects and how they are to be applied within the crop
- Apply biologicals and assess health of biological populations as needed for preventative or reactive treatments to pest pressures
- Apply chemical treatments in the greenhouse as needed and suggested by the growers
- Report on all findings in the scouting area and create a written report for the growers
- Follow all food safety and health and safety policies
- Other duties as assigned

- Grower Pesticide Safety Training (Pesticide License)

Working Conditions:
Biological Scouts complete the majority of their work in the greenhouse, using a scissor lift. Successful applicants must be comfortable working at heights, and in warm/ humid climates for extended periods of time. Scouts must also be able to push scissor lifts and occasionally lift heavy objects. Scouts must be able to bend, climb and walk for prolonged periods of time.
Hours:
- Around 40 to 45 hours a week including the occasional Saturday

Based on experience and qualifications.
