Greenhouse / Nursery Worker – Trout Creek (Summerland)

GARDENWORKS Penticton is looking for an energetic and passionate, nurseryman to join our team at our growing facility in Trout Creek. We grow perennials, annuals, & trees & shrubs to support our retail garden centre.

What you will be doing:

• Cultivate and care for plants in a greenhouse or outdoor setting
• Monitor plant growth and health, adjusting as needed
• Water and irrigate plants according to their specific needs
• Apply fertilizers as directed
• Prune and trim plants to promote healthy growth
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of growing area
• Report signs of insect or disease damage
• Preparing product for shipment to our retail store

We would love to meet someone who has:

• Knowledge of trees & shrubs, including proper growing and maintenance requirements
• Relevant experience in a growing/greenhouse setting
• Excellent tractor driving skills
• Ability to irrigate plants effectively, ensuring proper hydration without overwatering
• Knowledge of gardening techniques and best practices for plant care
• Working knowledge of agricultural and greenhouse equipment
• This job requires extended periods of walking and standing, the ability to perform regular lifting, as well as exposure to varying weather conditions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A high level of awareness for health & safety

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 5 months

Salary: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
