Reporting to the Nursery Manager, the primary role of Greenhouse Watereris to ensure all plants in the greenhouse production area are watered and fertilized. When not watering or fertilizing, this position will support the Greenhouse Production Supervisor and Propagation Assistants in executing the Greenhouse Production Plan. This position is seasonal from February to June. This role can be full-time or part-time. One weekend day is required. Specific duties include:
- Ensure all plants in the greenhouse production area are given the correct amount of water according to their growing needs and the current environmental conditions
- Execute the fertilization program, including measuring and mixing fertilizer
- Monitor greenhouse temperatures and humidity; open, close and apply shade cloth as needed
- Shift crops within and between production areas as directed
- Ensure workspace and overall greenhouse cleanliness
- Report signs of insect or disease damage to the Supervisor
- Assist with the transplanting and potting of annuals and vegetables as directed
- Assist with maintaining annual production and retail overstock including weeding, staking, fertilizing and pruning, spacing/turning/moving plants to ensure optimum light levels, air flow, and growth
- Assist with nursery wide retail stocking, weeding, plant maintenance as needed

Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of greenhouse plant production principles
- Basic math for measuring and mixing fertilizer
- Strong grip strength for attaching and detaching hoses
- Ability to stand, bend, crouch and kneel, pull hoses and move plants in pots
- Ability to do repetitive tasks (seeding, transplanting, watering) with efficiency and care
- Ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions and hot/humid greenhouse environments
- Ability to work minimum 3 days per week including one weekend day
Compensation:
- $17-18 per hour depending on experience
