About the role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Grounds Maintenance Technician who will report to the Operations Manager. As a Grounds Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our residential grounds. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and servicing various amenities, general landscaping with addition to seasonal landscaping and snow removal. The position requires the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.

What you’ll be doing

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, weeding, and pruning to maintain a well-manicured landscape
• Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other hand tools
• Inspect and maintain playground equipment, ensuring its safety and adherence to industry standards
• Repair or replace damaged components on playground such as swings, slides, and climbing structures
• Maintain splash park water filtration system, pumps, and other system equipment
• Inspect and conduct routine repairs of splash park equipment, including fixing leaks, replacing faulty components, and ensuring proper water circulation
• Plant and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees, ensuring proper watering and fertilization
• Monitor and control pests and diseases that may affect the health of the landscape
• Communicate and enforce bylaws to residents and visitors
• Maintain and empty garbage cans throughout the site
• Plan and implement new landscape projects (as needed)
• Maintain accurate records of work and reporting of issues

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in Grounds Maintenance, landscaping, or a related field
• Knowledge of landscaping techniques, equipment operation, and basic repairs
• Familiarity with playground and splash park equipment maintenance is an asset
• Grade 12 diploma
• Ability to lift 50lbs and perform manual labor in various weather conditions
• Valid driver's license is required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
