Key Responsibilities

  • Operate small equipment such as lawnmower, string trimmer, hand sprayer, leaf blower, edger, pressure washer.
  • Install new plant material and mulch.
  • Apply pesticides on campus under the supervision of the Authorized Pesticide Applicator.
  • Road repair and garbage removal.
  • Garden maintenance such as weeding, pruning, dead heading, and watering.
  • Clerk vehicles and equipment.
  • Other duties as needed.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education program, preferably in a related field.
  • Work in various weather events such as heat, cold, rain, and wind.
  • Able to work in a physically challenging environment, which includes heavy lifting, long periods of standing, bending, walking, shoveling, and raking; operating equipment that causes vibration.
  • Mechanical ability would be an asset.
  • Positive attitude and a safety mindset.

Additional Information

This is a student appointment commencing May 1, 2024, and ending August 30, 2024, working a 40 hour work week.

Wage: $15.00 per hour

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;

  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
