We are looking for a self-motivated team member to fill the role ofTransportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Packaging Coordinator. In this role you will demonstrate the ability to lead the CAMI RESS site in the critical area of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), as well as support the overall packaging needs for the RESS assembly operations.

The successful applicant will become the subject matter expert on TDG at the CAMI RESS site, ensuring all shipping and receiving complies with relevant TDG regulations including documentation, placards, training, labels, etc. Additionally, the role is involved with the design, implementation, continuous improvement, problem solving, and maintenance of packaging used at the facility.

In collaboration with GM Central containerization, you ensure that container design and timing agree with plant needs including safety, ergonomic and part quality metrics. Support is provided in the implementation of projects and collaboration with the production team members is utilized when problem solving arises. Mainstream tasks also include the oversight of repair, repack, budgetary consideration and accountability to various GM specifications and requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Promote a workplace safety culture that prioritizes every employee ’s safe return home.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of TDG as subject matter expert at CAMI RESS .

  • Ensure compliance of CAMI RESS shipping/receiving with all relevant DG handling requirements.

  • Create/review/maintain accurate TDG records .

  • Support/schedule/track TDG training for CAMI RESS team members.

  • Ensure necessary TDG items are available on sit e (labels, placards, etc ) .

  • Coordination of container projects with GM Containerization.

  • Supplier compliance to inbound and outbound container and labelling requirements.

  • Collaboration and problem solving with production teams on container presentation.

  • Champion for GMS Short Lead Time statements 8,9 and 10 supporting container systems.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external resources

  • Strong Problem Solving.

  • Excellent communicator.

  • Capacity to learn , interpret , and communicate TDG requirements

  • Understanding of GM Packaging Requirements/Specifications.

  • Business Plan deployment / Budgeting / Forecasting.

  • Familiarity with GMS Principles.
