Gymnastics & Events Instructor

Looking for someone energetic, great with kids, good with customer service/talking with parents to teach recreational gymnastics fundamentals to young kids (mostly O-6yrs, but up to age 12).

Weekly classes, day camps, kids night out events, field trips, open gym, private lessons and birthday parties may all be part of your schedule. Cleaning duties apply. Bonus if you can also teach dance as we expand our program offerings! This role has potential to build towards a full time position, with added responsibilities, and customer service duties for the right candidate.

Part time: Around 10-20 hours per week- weekly class schedule is set, but events fluctuate based on bookings so could be up to 30 + hours some weeks. Some weekday morning & evening availability is necessary (T-TH), and Must be available at least 1 weekend day. No super early mornings or late nights- huge bonus compared to most service industry jobs. Competitive wages. Starting rate above minimum wage, and will go up from there based on previous experience & skillset.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver gymnastics lessons to students of various ages and skill levels using pre-set lesson plans and your own plans
• Teach proper techniques and form for gymnastics skills, including tumbling, balance beam, bars, and trampoline
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
• Provide individualized instruction/skills progressions and feedback to help students improve- spotting children as needed
• Monitor student progress and track their achievements
• Ensure equipment is set up properly and maintained in a safe condition
• Ensure safety rules are being followed at all times
• Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student progress and any wins or concerns
• Communicate current events/marketing materials/important messages to families
• Facilitate fun active games and activities at birthday parties, kids night out, and day camps for kids of all ages
• facilitate quiet down-time activities when needed at events- i.e. crafts, colouring, reading, games

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a gymnast, dancer, cheerleader, tumbler, and/or gymnastics/dance instructor is a must
• knowledge of gymnastics techniques, skills, spotting, and safety guidelines
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work well with children and provide positive reinforcement
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Clear criminal record check provided (or consent to obtain)

Salary: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
