Job Description

As Head of Digital Platform, this role will be responsible for:

• Set the strategic direction for the evolving Digital Platform across RBC Capital Markets. Ideal candidate will be familiar with leading cross asset client-facing platforms, and have a strong grasp in emerging technology to create a ‘new-generation’ product

• Build and lead a high-performing technology team of product managers, engineers and leads specializing in digital solutions, providing them with world-class management support and advancing their personal development.

• Deliver consistent high-quality products, ensuring systems are robust, reliable, and fully compliant with RBC’s engineering excellence standards and principles.

• Appropriately assess risk and control environment in all technical decisions, meeting compliance requirements, adhering to all RBC Policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

• Collaborate with global and diverse RBC partners across North America, Europe and APAC

• Rigorously prioritize opportunities and resources for roadmap planning and implementation

• Own the end-to-end platform and implementation strategy and serve as the single point of contact to technology and business partners

• Provide thought leadership on how to maximize and scale the platform capabilities & deliver best in class Client experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ownership and accountability for managing the development of the Digital Platform including services for Research, Alternative & ESG data, Marketing, Trade Analytics in addition to overseeing the orchestration of function such as authentication, entitlements, content management, search, personalization, performance management and stability, and usage analytics

• Collaborate and partner with senior leaders across technology and product disciplines to ensure the best possible outcomes and goals are consistently achieved.

• Perform a dynamic and thought-leadership role in transforming the Digital Platform, working together with the Technical Leads, Data Governance Team, Architecture, and the Digital Platform team.

• Promotion and adoption of leading technologies, and development practices (e.g. DevOps), to create a best-of-breed client experience

•Flexibility and solutions driven approach.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $275-$375 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.  This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.

Job Summary

As Head of Digital Platform across Capital Markets, this role will be responsible for delivering a Digital marketplace for Institutional Investors delivering cross-asset access to Capital Markets products and services including Global Markets Research, Trade Analytics, Alternative & ESG Data Insights & more through a centralized and connected platform. These services span all asset classes enhancing and simplifying the client digital experience, expanding our product suite and building on the strength of our Capital Markets franchise while generating new revenue streams and business models. The Digital Platform is a client and product driven team, composed of talented and passionate business leaders, engineers, AI scientists, product managers, designers and client experience specialists.
