About the Role: Join us as a Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection (HSEP) Coordinator, where you'll be a motivated individual capable of adapting to changing priorities while ensuring safe and efficient operations. Reporting to the Contract Site Manager, you'll be responsible for environmental, health, safety, and project coordination functions in a dynamic industrial setting.

What You Will Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in environmental science.
  • Halocarbons environmental awareness and ODS Ozone-Depleting Substances Certification.
  • 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training (HAZWOPER).
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in an environmental position.
  • 3 years' experience in solid waste management and 4 years' experience in hazardous waste management.
  • 1+ years' experience in a health & safety role.
  • Project management experience would be an asset.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Review, update, and adhere to Glycol Mitigation, Hazardous Material Management, and Solid Waste Management Plans.
  • Maintain the recycling program and provide direction on incinerator operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations during the transport of hazardous materials.
  • Respond to spills, coordinate cleanup, and submit spill reports.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on incinerator usage and hazardous material storage/movement.
  • Develop policies to promote occupational health and safety.
  • Assist in setting up a new employee on-boarding process for safety.
  • Participate in incident investigations and develop corrective actions.
  • Develop safety standards and protocols such as Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Field Level Hazard Analysis (FLHA).
  • Enforce preventative measures and maintain OHS records and reporting.
  • Assist in coordinating resources to implement projects in accordance with design and safety standards.


Requirements:

  • Eligible for RELIABILITY security clearance and pre-employment medical.
  • Possess a valid passport for travel to CFS Alert, NU, including overnight stays in Thule, Greenland.
  • Cross-cultural adaptability and a strong team player mindset are essential.
