We are looking to hire an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic to inspect, service, and maintain our fleet of heavy-duty on road and off-road equipment in Grimshaw, Alberta. Apprentices are encouraged to apply.
To ensure success as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, you should have proven experience working on off-road and on road equipment, be physically fit, and be able to troubleshoot issues at hand. Ultimately, a top-notch Heavy Duty Mechanic can repair and service even the biggest machinery with expert care.
Responsibilities:
- Inspecting trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment, in a fleet environment, for proper performance
- Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment
- Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts
- Repairing damaged equipment parts
- Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles
- Repairing and servicing machine attachments
- Performing major repair work when necessary
- Consulting with other Mechanics and Supervisor when needed
- Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management
- Actively participate in the compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System
- Performs other duties as required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Apprenticeship Documentation
- Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
- Understanding of computer testing technologies
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment
- Must have a Class 5 driver's license at minimum
- CVIP license preferred
- Ability to work after-hours if required
- Good communication skills
