Heavy Equipment Operator

A&S Scrap Metals, under the umbrella of John Ross & Sons Ltd. which is the largest scrap metal recycling facility in Atlantic Canada and committed to exceeding our customer's expectations.

We are currently seeking a safety-minded Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Charlottetown! Previous experience (3 years preferred) is a must. The worksite operates Monday through Friday with Saturday special projects.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 6:30am-5:30pm; Saturday

Responsibilities and Duties

• Operate various pieces of equipment, primarily excavators
• Clean and lubricate equipment, refill equipment tanks
• Conduct pre-operational checks
• Secure special attachments
• Perform minor repairs on equipment
• Ensure deficiencies are noted and reported to proper manager
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

• Safety Minded
• Reliable and dependable
• Enjoy working with others
• Class 1 license would be considered an asset but not mandatory
• 3 years’ experience
