Role Summary
Reporting to the Shop Foreman, the Diesel Heavy Equipment Technician will be responsible for conducting general mechanical repairs on Heavy Equipment, trucks, and trailers. Based out of our New Haven Shop, this role will perform various tasks including engine repairs, equipment servicing and upgrades.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment.
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
- Review documentation and repair order to ensure accuracy.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
- Perform repair work on heavy trucks.
- Service attachments and working tools.
- Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles and equipment for proper handling.
- Maintain tools and shop cleanliness daily according to company standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Adhere and support all safety requirements and quality standards set forth in the PEI Occupational Health and Safety General Regulations, PEI Occupational Health and Safety Act and Island Coastal’s Safety Management System.
- Use your experience to identify health and safety deficiencies and support Management in implementing solutions OR report to Management when required.
What You Bring
- 2+ years diesel Heavy Equipment repair experience.
- Red Seal Certification considered an asset.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to handle a physically demanding role.
- Valid drivers license and own transportation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $22.75-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week
