What we seek:

OCHC is currently seeking a dedicated Helpdesk Student to join and provide support to the IT team. Under the guidance of the Manager, Technology, Infrastructure and Service Desk, the Helpdesk Student will assist the Helpdesk Administrators with their day-to-day activities, including telephone and onsite support.


Helpdesk Studentwith OCHC:

Adapting internal systems to innovate and grow is a main strategic priority at our organization. As the Helpdesk Student, you will be an essential part of our objective by assisting with the planning and implementation of the computer infrastructure renewal project through the deployment of new PCs and laptops.


As a Helpdesk Student, some of the things you will do include:

  • Provide first level technical support to OCH computer users on corporate applications including Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Update inventory of all systems equipment information.

  • Mobile device troubleshooting and administration using Mobile Device Management Software

  • Active directory administration

  • Basic network troubleshooting

  • Re-image of old equipment in preparation for donation and re-organize the systems storage room.

  • Assist with other day to day IT activities, including short-term projects, as required.

What you bring:

Education & Experience:

A typical candidate will have the following qualifications and experience. Exceptional candidates with different qualifications will be considered at the discretion of the employer if demonstrated experience, knowledge, and ability warrant.

  • Completed a minimum of 1 year of Network Administration or Computer Systems Technician Program.

  • Ability to setup, configure and troubleshoot personal computer hardware and Windows software, including imaging.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.

  • Familiar with network hardware such as switches and patch panels.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office 365 Suite

Skills and abilities:

  • Ability to work well in an office environment, independently and as a part of a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement projects of short to medium duration.

  • Oral fluency, reading and writing abilities in English are essential.

  • Oral, reading and written fluency in French is an asset.

Other requirements:

  • Eligible to work in Canada.

  • Must be between 15-30 years of age.

  • A valid Class “G” driver’s license.

Work conditions:

This is a full-time (35 hours per week) position.
