About the Position:
Mushuau Innu First Nation is seeking a skilled and passionate Hospitality Specialist to support the operations of the Mushuau Innu General Store (MIGS) and hotel under the direction of the Store Manager. This is a full-time position that requires a commitment of up to 12 hours per day, with a rotational work schedule typically consisting of 4 weeks in and 2 weeks out, to be confirmed with the right candidate.
Come experience the unique beauty of the Mushuau Innu community in Natuashish, Labrador. The store includes a gas bar, 8-room hotel, camp accommodations, kitchen, patron dining area, and grocery store serving the community of approximately 1000 individuals.

Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Duties:
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner items, adhering to established recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all meals are prepared and served in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, following food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist in menu planning and inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed
- Adhere to dietary restrictions and accommodate special requests or dietary needs as best possible
- Foster positive working relationships with vendors, customers, and other stakeholders
- Assist to solve any customer service or satisfaction issues
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary in the performance of the position and as assigned by the Store Management
Housekeeping Duties:
- Perform general housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and sanitizing guest rooms, common areas, and public spaces
- Make beds, change linens, and replenish towels and amenities
- Do laundry including washing, drying and folding of hotel and kitchen linens
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces

- Vacuum and mop floors
- Empty trash and ensure proper waste disposal
- Clean and maintain bathroom facilities
- Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks as assigned
- Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate personnel
- Adhere to established housekeeping procedures and safety standards
Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Understanding of and compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work well within a team
- Effective oral and written communications skills
- Flexibility to adapt to a rotational work schedule, typically 4 weeks in and 2 weeks out
- Valid Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods including lifting of heavy objects
- Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and ability to lead by example
- Professional appearance
- Follow all Mushuau Innu First Nation Policies and Procedures and display a commitment to the values and culture of the Nation
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma preferred
- Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of proven culinary experience as a Cook or Chef, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant, cafeteria or similar environment
Other Requirements:
- Ability to successfully and periodically undergo an appropriate criminal records review and police record check is required
