THE ROLE:

The Room Preventative Maintenance staff is responsible for conducting routine Preventative Maintenance activities in guest rooms and common areas of the hotel. This role is crucial in ensuring the overall cleanliness, functionality, and comfort for guests during their stay.

ACTIVITIES:

The duties and responsibilities for the Room Preventative Maintenance staff include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Complete Preventative Maintenance tasks: Follow a checklist of predetermined maintenance tasks in each guest room, such as lubricating door hinges, replacing light bulbs, checking HVAC systems.
  • Inspect and maintain guest rooms: Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms to identify and address maintenance issues such as malfunctioning appliances, plumbing problems, loose fixtures, or in-room equipment. Perform necessary repairs or coordinate with appropriate departments to resolve issues promptly.
  • Check and maintain common areas: Inspect and maintain common areas, including hallways, stairwells, elevators, and lobbies. Address any maintenance issues promptly, repairing damaged walls, or fixing malfunctioning electronic systems.
  • Record and report maintenance activities: Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed in each room or common area, including dates, tasks performed, and recommendations for further repairs or improvements. Prepare reports for the management team as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments: Communicate and collaborate effectively with housekeeping, engineering, and front desk personnel to address maintenance issues, coordinate repairs, and ensure minimal disruption to guests' experience.
  • Follow safety protocols: Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for oneself, colleagues, and guests. Report any hazardous situations or incidents immediately to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to guest requests: Promptly address and resolve maintenance requests from guests, ensuring their satisfaction and comfort. Maintain a professional and courteous attitude while interacting with guests.

COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in maintenance or related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to handle power tools, equipment, and chemicals safely.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Week day and weekend availability
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects when necessary up to 75lbs.
