Housekeeper (Casual)

Position:Housekeeper

Hours of work:7:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. , On-call basis

Effective Date:Immediately

Core Function: Reporting to the Director of Environmental Services, the housekeeper performs general housekeeping and minor maintenance/servicing operations throughout the facility, reports unsafe conditions/situations in accordance with applicable policy and procedure and as directed. The ability to interact with families, residents, and other team members is essential.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-2 years cleaning experience
• Experience working with heavy duty cleaning equipment.
• Ability to read and write English and understand moderately complex oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures, knowledge of WHMIS, cleaning and sanitation products
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Competent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling
• Able to use computers and internet
• Evidence of good attendance

Working Conditions

• Walking, with possibility of some upstairs walking, as a major job function.
• Standing, for lengths of time, up to 3 hours maximum, (1-2 hrs. usual) as a major job function.
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Stretching/lifting on a regular basis throughout the shift as a major job function.
