Housekeeping

Sabourin Lake Lodge is a family-owned fishing camp sitting on 21 acres, located 50 miles beyond the reach of any road on majestic Sabourin Lake, Ontario in Woodland Caribou Wilderness Park, 1 hour north of Kenora. The Lodge is accessible only by float plane and is open seasonally May 15 through September 15. All staff will be required to stay onsite for the duration of the season.

We are seeking a reliable and adventurous cleaner to join our team. The House Keeper #1 will be responsible for providing for the comfort of guests by ensuring that guest cabins and public areas are clean and properly presented. The role promotes a positive image of the property to guests, and must be pleasant, friendly and able to address problems or special requests. Our season runs May to mid September.

Duties + Responsibilities

• Ensuring the cabins and property is in tip top order: making beds, cleaning surfaces, sweeping and moping, cleaning and changing toilets, restocking supplies, etc.
• Grabbing laundry bags from cabins
• Cleaning bathrooms, showers and tubs, including refilling paper towel and toilet paper dispensers
• Washing dishes (guest and staff)
• Cleaning all common spaces including sweeping, dusting, mopping, and cleaning windows
• Ensures all service areas are clean and tidy at all times including disposing of all rubbish appropriately.
• Advises Manager of any stock shortages
• Restocks room amenities according to checklist
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements + Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous housekeeping experience would be considered an asset
• Be well organized and works with a sense of urgency.
• Be well groomed and presentable appearance, wearing the required uniform while on shift.
• Demonstrate a dedication to working productively with others and a focus on team work.
• Work well under pressure and maintain a pleasant demeanor under stress
• Maintain a high standard of safety and cleanliness.
• Possess good communication skills and be able to accurately read and act on instructions.

Location/Transportation

• Our lodge is located 50 miles beyond the reach of any road on majestic Sabourin Lake, Ontario in Woodland Caribou Wilderness Park, 1 hour north of Kenora. The Lodge is accessible only by float plane
• Staff will be provided transportation to the lodge at the beginning of the season and back home when the season is over
• Staff will be responsible for getting themselves to the float plane located at 52 Blueberry Rock Dr. Lac du Bonnet, MB at the beginning of the season and home from there at the end of the season
• All staff are required to stay on site during the season May to mid September
