Position Summary
We are looking for a Human Resources Intern to join us for a four month period, starting in May, 2024.
This position will be based onsite at our Coaldale facility.
The successful candidate will report into the HR Business Partner and work with the HR Team to support areas such as retention, recruitment, compensation, and employee relations. They will assist the HRBP with the implementation of programs an initiatives. Provide recruitment support to business units including sourcing, resume screening, interviewing, testing and candidate selection.

What You Will Be Working On
- Assist the Talent Acquisition Partner and HR Specialist with recruitment efforts
- Assist in deploying programs related to Diversity Equity and Inclusion
- Facilitate and promote employee events
- Work with our Occupational health lead to promote employee wellness activities
- Participate in change management HR projects, as defined
- General administrative duties and other tasks as assigned
What You Will Learn
- High volume recruitment and facility start up procedures (maintaining a recruitment plan)
- Employee relations within a food processing facility
- Hiring process from screening all the way to an employees first 90 days with the business
What You Need to be Successful
- Enrolled in University/College program, ideally with a focus on Human Resources with an accredited institution.
- Must have proven history of safe work habits, promotion and adherence to company safe work rules and regulations.
- Results orientated, team player with demonstrated prioritization skills, as well as problem solving abilities.
- Tact and diplomacy - ensure professionalism when dealing with internal customers and outside vendors - ability to build strong relationships.
- Proficiency in MS office products.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills as well as an ability to maintain confidentiality.
