Scope
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources & Communications, the Human Resources Office Assistant will be responsible for providing a wide variety of administrative functions to support the Human Resources Division, with an emphasis on delivering superior service to the public and to our internal customers.
Responsibilities
Provide front reception service and support for the HR Division’s internal and external customers and visitors.
Manage the Human Resources main telephone line and email enquiries in a prompt manner.
Coordinate and administer the Police Information Check process, employment verification letters, office invoices and expenses.
Support other HR Assistants with administering job postings, coordinating employment testing, performing data entry, and other related duties.
Order office supplies, maintain filing systems, archive files and coordinate incoming/outgoing mail and deliveries.
Provide support for HR initiatives and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by post-secondary courses in office administration, Human Resources or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of related reception and administrative experience in a fast-paced organization.
Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise tact and sound judgment when dealing with confidential and personal information.
Self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required and experience with HR systems would be an asset.
Ability to exercise considerable independence of judgment in maintaining standards and practices, as well as initiating improvements to achieve desired objectives within the work team.
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
This position involves completion of a Police Information Check.
Other Information
Pay Rate: A1 $61,000 - $71,765
