The opportunity
The Identity & Access Management Analyst is a tier 2 support professional responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Identity & Access Management (IAM) platform and execution of operational procedures. The IAM Analyst will help troubleshoot and resolve issues as part of a team and will perform a key function of the Information Security Office to maintain a safe and secure computing environment
Areas of focus
  • Monitor the IAM technology platform, the automated provisioning workflows, and integrated applications to ensure optimal performance.
  • Resolve request and incident tickets related to the onboarding and offboarding of employees, maintenance of user attributes, assignment of role-based access to resources, and application access provisioning.
  • Support technologies and processes for enhanced authentication mechanisms including but not limited to: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single-Sign On (SSO) authentication, hardware-based token access, remote access, and Virtual Private Network (VPN) solutions.
  • Author reports and provide metrics to communicate the operational status of the IAM function to the Manager, Identity & Access Management and the Chief Information Security Officer.
  • Assist staff as a training resource and point of contact to any personnel that utilizes the Access Management Processes
  • Update IAM documentation as required.
  • Responsible for adherence to IT processes and standards across the program.
  • Serve as the point of escalation from the business and IT; execute the provisioning steps needed to ensure an efficient and compliant process
  • Participate in rotational on-call production support.
Successful incumbent
Education
  • Diploma or university degree in the field of Computing Science
  • Desired (one of): Okta Certified Professional, Okta Certified Administrator, Okta Certified Consultant or equivalent IAM certification
  • Desired: Systems Security Certified Professional (SSCP)
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of strong customer service experience in an IT End User facing role.
  • Desired: 1-2 years of experience in Information Security.
  • Familiarity with information security control frameworks and standards including ISO 27001, COBIT, NIST Cyber Security Framework.
  • Familiarity with information security technologies including identity platforms (e.g. Okta or Azure Active Directory), cloud-based identity providers, Privileged Access Management (PAM) systems, multi-factor technologies such as RSA, Microsoft Authenticator, Okta Verify, U2F and FIDO2 (e.g. YubiKey), and enterprise password managers.
  • Familiarity with workflows (manual or automated) related to identity lifecycle management (onboarding, changes, offboarding), provisioning of user accounts with integrated systems, access request and entitlements, and password management.
  • Familiarity with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) IT service management framework.
  • Experience within the financial services industry is an asset.
