Nature of Position
The Leisure Services Department requires multiple Imagination Park Camp Leaders to provide
the delivery of summer programs to children between the ages of 5 - 12 at the Quesnel Arts
and Recreation Centre. This position is open to all applicants between the ages of 15 and 30
years of age.
We are looking for camp leaders who are enthusiastic, caring, and have experience working
with school-aged children or in a similar camp environment. As a camp leader, you will be
responsible for assisting and implementing daily and weekly programs and activities,
interacting with the children, planning activities that include sports and games, helping with
daily site set-up and take-down, and supervising swimming sessions in a team environment.
Duties:
- Imagination Park Camp Leaders will organize and lead a variety of youth activities
- The Imagination Park Camp Leaders will be responsible to ensure that safety
- Other responsibilities include assisting in maintaining City equipment and supplies.
Required Qualifications:
The skills, ability and education required for this position are as follows:
- Applicants must be available to work June 20 through August 30, 2024 between the
hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday;
- Open to all applicants between the ages of 15 – 30 years of age at the start of
- Experience in working with youth in a wide range of activities including themes, sports,
- Applicants must have a valid Emergency First Aid or equivalent first aid certificate;
- Ability to commit to the philosophy, goals and objectives of the City of Quesnel;
- A valid Class 5 BC drivers license is considered an asset.
In addition to possessing these qualifications, the Imagination Park Camp Leaders must be
physically able to perform all required duties, and must consent to and successfully clear a
security check under the Criminal Records Review Act.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, from June 20, 2024 through to August 30, 2024, inclusive.
This position is subject to partial funding provided by the Canada Summer Jobs grant. This
position will only be filled if the City receives confirmation that its grant application has been
approved.
