Your opportunity:
Both the Faculty of Arts and Science and the University of Toronto have asserted their commitment to the promotion of Indigenous languages through institutional Calls to Action. At the same time, Indigenous nations are engaged in serious language reclamation and revitalization work, with the restoration and normalization of intergenerational transmission oftheir languages as an ultimate objective. Under the supervision of an Associate Professor at the the Centre for Indigenous Studies, the Indigenous Language Revitalization Partnership Coordinator will be tasked with building capacity at the University of Toronto to align Indigenous language teaching and research at the university with the objectives of community-led language reclamation and revitalization work, through the establishment of reciprocal partnerships that leverage the complementary expertiseof community and university language specialists.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Advising faculty on funding application strategies
-Liaising with academic units and stakeholders to support research funding initiatives
-Handling complex and/or sensitive information
-Conducting detailed analysis and evaluation to inform program planning activities
-Developing and implementing targeted outreach initiatives
-Analyzing market data to determine trends and effectiveness of programs and initiatives
-Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
-Liaising with contacts to identify opportunities for collaborations
 
Essential Qualifications:
 
-Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
-Minimum five years of recent and related experience in seeking and applying for financial opportunities, including grant development, community project planning administration and implementation
-Experience with community-based Indigenous Language Revitalization programming.
-Experience working with Indigenous organizations and Indigenous peoples
-Support outreach and coordinate partnership-related activities with potential Indigenous community partners, including travelling to communities to participate in meetings, research activities, events, and other fora.
-Conduct environmental scans of resources and needs of potential partner programs.
-Experience with or advising on academic research, including grant writing, funding sources, and knowledge mobilization.
-Experience building and maintaining relationships withinternal and external stakeholders; negotiating, applying dispute resolution strategies, influencing, liaising, briefing, and evaluating as required.
-Demonstrated experience with full-cycle project and program management, including ideation, defining work scope, implementation, managing stakeholders, and evaluation; experience managing several programs and projects simultaneously
-Ability to analyze complex situations and risk implications to provide recommendations and contingency plans.
-Ability to exercise a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and good judgment.
-Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and effectively in-person, by phone and video conference; leading meeting coordination; managing high-level communication among the project research team and partners; using tact, diplomacy, and flexibility in dealing with researchers, partners and contractors.
-Working knowledge of University of Toronto, or similar post-secondary institution, structure, policies, and procedures.

USW Pay Band 15 -- $93,752 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $119,892. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
