Industrial Autocad Technician / Mechanical Drafter

Your minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Mechanical Drafter / machine designer in a fast-paced customer service orientated environment such as custom machinery or hydraulic system fabrication has made you a proactive and effective problem solver. Position is a full-time 37.5 hours permanent position based in Mississauga.

You have a technical post-secondary education. You are proficient with 2D and 3D versions of AutoCAD. You understand service manuals and CAD drawings. Some previous experience in doing drawings of fluid power technology, pumps, bearing mechanics or power transmission components used in heavy equipment and industrial manufacturing machinery is essential.

Compensation based upon experience. Hours are from 8 a/m to 4:30 p/m with an hour for lunch. Training on Company Solutions and products will be provided.

Nature and Scope:

This position entails the day-to-day functions of preparing drawings & drawing templates.This includes maintaining files / folders of both physical & electronic nature.

Activities:

• Prepares item templates for future use.
• Prepares & completes system overview, individual & fabricated drawings as per requirements & within deadlines.
• Co-ordinates design changes & product / system up-dates with other groups.
• Ensures drawings meet customer specifications & accurately reflect what is shipped to customer.
• Ensure all company equipment and property is properly maintained as required on an on-going basis.
• Provide support to inside sales department as required e.g. filing, line item order entry, Weekly packing slips to TSMs, enter BoMs, enter BoM orders, etc..
• Provide support to purchasing department as required e.g. filing, price changes (end user, costs), entering Purchase Orders, etc..
• Provide support to marketing department as required e.g. filling literature requests, assembling catalogues, assembling customer instruction manuals, etc..
• Provide support to assembly department as required e.g. printing assembly drawings as orders are released, etc..
