· Work in a safe manner, compliant to all health & safety rules and regulations of Ontario, both in house and also at customer sites.
· Assemble, fit, build, install and inspect simple and complex components, sub-assemblies and machinery
· Work with Millwrights, Electricians, Apprentices and other Mechanical/Machine Builders to meet customer delivery dates on time and within budget
· Install pneumatic fitting and components and electrical switches and devices.
· Maintain quality of fabrication / assemblies
· Complete required documentation per job
· Inspect, operate, and test completed machines to verify functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to customer specifications
· Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies
· Take daily direction from senior technicians
· Support shop floor fabrication which includes but not limited to: welding, assembly, fitting, testing and trouble shooting
· Provide feedback to engineering if items do not fit or meet drawing requirements
· Support other technicians as required
· Conduct PM’s and filter changes on dust collectors
· Communicate to the office any results of service call, part requirements & additional service
· Work weekends and holidays as required
· Travel internationally as required
Required Skills:
· Read and understand blueprints / drawings for fabrication
· The ability to communicate well with customers
· The ability to assist customer to make an informed decision on their machinery, parts or service.
· Fill in appropriate service forms / documentation
· The ability to troubleshoot customers equipment
Qualifications:
· Valid driver’s licence
· Valid Passport
· Ability to successfully pass a Police background check for controlled goods
· Crane and forklift certification needs to be maintained in good condition
· High School Diploma or equivalent required; Some level of College preferred
· Strong technical / mechanical knowledge and aptitude is required
2 or 3 years fabrication or service experience.
