Information Security Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and diligent Information Security Specialist to join our growing IT team. As an Information Security Specialist, you will provide specialized expertise and guidance on assessing risks, identifying potential gaps, and providing security solutions to mitigate risks and protect Lakeland. Your responsibilities will include monitoring network security, investigating breaches, implementing security measures, and maintaining security standards.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor computer networks for security issues.
- Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
- Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.
- Collaborate with the IT team to perform tests and uncover system vulnerabilities.
- Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
- Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause.
- Ensure technology, processes, and governance are in place to monitor, detect, prevent, and react to both current and emerging technology and security threats against Lakeland’s business.
- Conduct risk assessment, required controls definition, control procedure appropriateness, vulnerability assessments and any other relevant areas.
- Stay current on IT security trends and news.
- Assist in the development of company-wide best practices for IT security.
- Adhere to internal policies and procedures, technology control standards, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Assist colleagues in installing security software and understanding Information Security management.
- Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
- Stay up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards.

Qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in computing science, or information technology or related field is required.
- Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or similar (SSCP, CISA, CISM) Certificationis required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Information Security or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in security awareness, with a strong knowledge of NIST or similar risk and control frameworks for operational technology environments (CoBIT, ISO, ITIL, PCI)
- Familiarity with computer network penetration testing and techniques with an ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.
- Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
- Knowledge of patch management, with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while considering business impact.
- An understanding and knowledge of incident response.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of personality types is required.
