Commercial Aluminum Installer
Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Operations, the Commercial Aluminum Installer is a key part of our commercial team and is responsible for the assembling and installing of commercial and industrial glazing applications. The position operates a variety of specialized tools and equipment, maintains a safe, clean and respectful work environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Install glazing systems, curtain wall, storefront, and doors as per drawings and instruction.
- Communicate with lead-hand, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Keep construction site and shop tidy.
- Uncrate and assemble products from shipping and receiving.
- Install showers, glass railings, protective shields, mirrors, and custom orders from customers as directed.
- Monitoring and reporting job progress daily.
- Notifying the supervisor when supplies are low to ensure adequate amounts are ordered and available in the shop.
- Assisting in resolving customer concerns and complaints arising from quality control as it relates to the installation of products and acting in the best interest of Northerm at all times.
- Maintaining professional behavior in all dealings with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
- Always Following Health & Safety procedures and protocols.
Requirements
- Experience in commercial & residential installation of glass, aluminum or other construction material.
- Ability to operate and work at heights on scissor lifts and ladders, while always following health and safety procedures.
- Familiarity and competence with a variety of hand- and power-tools.
- Ability to read construction drawings an asset.
- Ability to lift materials weighing 50 lbs and up.
- Detail orientation, accuracy and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and an individual drive to succeed while always being a strong team player.
- Customer service oriented, with the ability to always represent Northerm in a positive manner, maintaining a professional tone and approach to both verbal and written communications.

- Willingness to learn.
- Completion of a high school diploma, with additional courses or other construction-related skills an asset.
- A valid driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years driving experience and a clean driver’s abstract.
