Areas of Responsibility
The Microfluidics Engineer Co-op will be a key member of the growing R&D team at PNI. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the company’s scientific and product development goals, which includes the following key responsibilities:
- Assembly of lipid nanoparticles for vaccine development
- Implement analytical lab techniques for nanoparticles
- Design, fabrication and characterization of microfluidic devices
- Application development for new microfluidic devices
- Assist in transitioning new formulation techniques into future products
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must have a keen interest in nanotechnology and life sciences, be a quick learner and motivated to help the company grow and succeed. Example of qualifications include:
- Studying Nanoscience, Nanotechnology Engineering, Engineering Physics, Biophysics or any other multi-disciplinary degree.
- Strong biological lab techniques.
- Experience or knowledge of microfabrication.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics or thermodynamics.
- Experience with the design and building of prototype instruments.
- Experience with Solidworks or other 3D cad software.
