Insurance Sales Desk Representative

Job Description

What is the opportunity?
We are looking for an Insurance Sales Desk Specialist who will be working from RBC’s head office, to provide direct sales support to our Estate Planning Specialists (EPS) and Investment Advisors (IA) teams. The ideal candidate is someone who is a high achiever with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced sales environment.

You will be joining an existing team of insurance professionals to provide insurance-based solutions to clients of RBC Wealth Management. You will also be expected to become familiar with Individual Life and Living Benefits products available through our approved list of insurance suppliers (currently BMO Life, Canada Life, Empire Life, Equitable Life, Manulife, RBC Insurance, and Sun Life Financial). Some flexibility around work arrangements can be provided.

What will you do?

  • Receive direct referrals from EPS and IA’s for which you will be expected to provide professional and knowledgeable sales and service support, thereby contributing to new sales and maintenance of existing business
  • Use internal software to package insurance products/concepts, communicate, plan and develop cases work
  • Prepare all relevant presentation and application materials to be presented to clients (Illustrations & concepts)
  • Analyze client cases and make appropriate recommendations
  • Ensure new applications are processed through our internal CRM system and sent to appropriate carrier
  • Keep abreast of new life insurance product developments
  • Keep a log of current insurance opportunities and ensure follow-up with RBC Wealth Management professionals
  • Manage pending cases and take the appropriate actions to oversee the successful completion of the case
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Investment Advisors (IA), Associate IA’s, Financial Planners, Wholesalers, and other internal & external partners
  • Execute initiatives to generate new sale opportunities
  • Deliver policy to clients
  • Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned

What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Highly organized with great attention to details
  • Life Insurance Licence (LLQP)
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in the insurance industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Life and Living Benefits Insurance Products

Nice-to-Have

  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience dealing with high-net-worth clients
  • Familiarity with using software and e-platforms of various insurance companies, as most transactions will be processed electronically
  • Life Insurance Licenced in various jurisdictions
