Integration Tester – HRIS
1 – Permanent Position

CUPE Local 4400 Unit C – Grade N (12 Month)

$41.02 – $48.44 per hour

Reporting to the HRIS Test Co-ordinator, the Integration Tester, HRIS will be responsible for:

  • functional testing of the SAP HR/Pay modules within TDSB including signing off of the tests
prior to implementation into the production environment;
  • integration testing, gathering requirements, performing validation, verification, assessment,
recommending test scenarios, producing test cases;
  • providing designs for continuing script development, reports, plans, automating tests and
reporting defects, errors and results all in related software including new software or
upgrades; and
  • creation and maintenance of test objects, test execution records, defect reporting, test tool
configuration and ensuring adherence to internal guidelines in Mercury, Solutions Manager,
EPI-Use, Quality Center, Quicktest and any other testing tools utilized by TDSB.

Summary of Duties:
➢ Responsible for all functional testing of the SAP HR/Pay and Smart Find Express modules within

TDSB including signing off of the tests prior to implementation into the production environment;
➢ Conducts integration testing, gathering requirements, performing validation, verification,

assessment, recommending test scenarios, producing test cases, provide designs for continuing
script development, reports, plans, automating tests and reporting defects, errors and results all in
related software including new software or upgrades;

➢ Responsible for creation and maintenance of test objects, test execution records, defect reporting,
test tool configuration and ensuring adherence to internal guidelines in Mercury, Solution Manager,
EPI-USE, Quality Center, Quicktest and any other testing tools utilized by TDSB;

➢ Responsible for ensuring that software testing is completed within the scheduled time frame, and
for preventing errors being introduced to the production system while optimising the time taken to
test;

➢ Ensure adherence to overall TDSB and SAP system standards in business processes to meet the
requirements of relevant collective agreements, Board policies, practices and procedures and
legislative requirements;

➢ Revise and document business processes and procedures for testing HRIS and other related
systems to take maximum advantage of testing software;

➢ Liaise with appropriate personnel, departments and employee groups to ensure effective and
efficient implementation of initiatives;

➢ Ensure client accessibility and a successful implementation that responds to the need of all TDSB
stakeholders;

➢ Adapt SAP HR/Payroll software tables and initiate change requests to meet unique Board record
keeping requirements;

➢ Ensure “user friendliness” within the approved business processes and procedures that responds
to the need of all TDBS stakeholders;

➢ Identify users and profiles to permit various levels of access to information ensuring system
security and integrity is maintained;

➢ Help develop and recommend business procedures, process standards, forms and reports;

➢ Assist with the adaptation and customization of SAP documentation to create TDSB-relevant
content: documentation, reports and manuals;

➢ Help develop and recommend new methods and procedures for improving quality and efficiency;
➢ Assist with team, unit goals, and objectives and shared vision;
➢ Assist with the development and integration of the group work plan;
➢ Execute the work plan according to approach and task completion dates;
➢ Provide consistent and timely status reports;
➢ Participate in the development and implementation of corporate standards and processes

regarding the functionality;
➢ Identify key areas of risk, assess their impact and identify options for avoiding or reducing the

negative impact; and
➢ Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
➢ Three-year community college diploma in related field (e.g. Computer Science) with two years

directly related working experience within an HRIS environment for a large, public sector employer
or an equivalent combination education and experience;

➢ Experience and functional familiarity with testing methodology within an integrated Human
Resources and Payroll software/computer systems;

➢ Understanding of SAP HCM application modules and other technical systems;
➢ Experience in planning and coordinating large scale projects;
➢ Computer skills include Mercury, Quick Test Professional, EPI-USE, Solution Manager, MS office

application;
➢ Knowledge of TDSB policies and procedures and collective agreement provisions;
➢ Good oral, written, interpersonal and organizational skills;
➢ Strong analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills;
➢ Proven ability to work under pressure and consistently meeting deadlines; and
➢ Project management and time management skills.

Special Requirements:
➢ Some travel will be required to work sites throughout the TDSB system as well as outside supplier

sites.

Assets:
➢ Attainment of a professional Purchasing designation (SCMP, CPPO, CPPB).


Location: 5050 Yonge Street (Wheelchair Accessible) (Hybrid Work Eligible)
Hours: 35 Hours per week
Work Year: 12 Months
