Position Overview: The Design Consultant is a member of the Interior Design team, responsible for providing plans, sketches, proposals and cost estimates to clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate selection options, including specification products and premium options, to assist clients with selecting interior and/or exterior finishes for their homes.
- Attend client appointments with suppliers at supplier show rooms, to provide Interior Design guidance and to record selections and other important information, to provide to sales, estimating, and construction teams, as necessary.
- Address client inquiries or concerns in a professional and timely manner. Conduct site visits to clarify installation and product issues.
- Review and sign off client selections, and complete corresponding documentation as necessary.
- Liaise with the Estimating team for custom price requests and communicate with clients accordingly.
- Collaborate with Estimating and Sales teams to create and maintain option books.
- Select products and options for show home and spec houses and specify exterior selections for architectural approval, including completing Schedule B and colour charts as required.
- Liaise with leadership on creation of new model designs.
- Create drawings for special details as necessary and forward them to related departments accordingly.
- Product research and building supplier relationships to negotiate best value purchases of show homes furniture and decorations.
- Assist with reviewing and signing off on cabinet drawings.
- Other design related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Completed post-secondary diploma in Administration, Sales, Fine Arts, Interior Design, or related field.
- Two (2) or more years of experience as an Interior Design specialist, or other similar occupation, preferably in the real estate industry.
- Experience in sales or customer service role is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the ability to use computational design software programs such as Illustrator and SketchUp is required.
- A valid class five (5) driver’s license and personal reliable transportation is required.
- A clean drivers abstract is required.
