At  Arcadis, our Transit Facilities Design professionals thrive on solving problems by putting their logic and creativity together. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a fast-paced, driven team with a proven success record in both design and technical excellence!  The successful candidate will offer experience being involved in complex projects end to end along with strong working drawings and BIM delivery – this will be imperative.  You will have hands-on experience with detailed drawings and implement through BIM platforms, strong ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines and cross organizational teams, have a keen eye for detail, are a strong critical thinker, and enjoys tackling new challenges and opportunities.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Senior Architectural Technologist (BIM Production Manager) in the transit studio, your role accountabilities will include:

  • Act in a management capacity to assist the Transit Architectural Teams with both Design Standards and Production
  • Act as the liaison to the larger Arcadis BIM Team to ensure bi-direction communication between staff and the regions
  • Lead the set up and assist with the development of architectural working drawing packages
  • Develop and manage a transit specific details content library
  • Coordinate and mentor project specific design and BIM leads
  • Perform various Building Information Models (BIM) tasks such as producing, reviewing and managing project drawings and documentation
  • Undertake clash detection
  • Perform and checking models ensuring that they meet Arcadis and project standards and they meet the project’s BIM Goals.
  • Ensure projects have a defined BIM Execution Plan and champion fulfillment of the plan throughout the project’s lifecycle
  • Be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance of the models
  • Keep an eye on coordination and troubleshooting, and act as a subject matter expert on BIM (Revit) related issues while maintaining best practices
  • Ensure the output from BIM models reflects a high standard of visual communication, construction conventions and best practices for architectural drawings

Qualifications


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ of experience in the role responsibilities mentioned above
  • Expertise with Revit Architecture, Revit Structure & Revit MEP as demonstrated by sophisticated use of software
  • Familiarity with interoperability between Revit and other disciplines-specific software programs, demonstrating awareness of the differences between BIM for Building, Civil and Plant.
  • Experience in 3D design and multi-discipline coordination, managing models and facilitating data exchange
  • Good communication skills for team-based working environment and for teaching others about best practices in BIM
  • Excellent team leadership to lead a BIM / design team for design and production
  • Excellent planning and organization skills required for fast-paced projects
  • Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
  • Ability to interact with external entities (clients, owners, agencies) to interpret and understand desired BIM or CAD delivery requirements
  • Experience with Transit Facility design will be considered an asset
