Seeking a highly driven individual to join the Asphalt & Industrial Products Marketing team with a primary focus on feedstock trading and developing commercial opportunities for intermediate products.
The candidate will actively contribute to and support organizational objectives through deal execution, market evaluation and supporting refinery assets. This position focuses on Cenovus' downstream refinery operation and gaining market opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate expertise with Intermediate Feedstock supply and trading including VGO, Fuel Oil, Hydrotreater Feedstocks and Asphalt.
Understanding of book level exposure and established risk limits.
Maintaining accurate record keeping with a focus on ETRM compliance.
Collaborate and cultivate strong working relationships with downstream assets, supply & logistics, terminal operations, and business development.
Participate in weekly and monthly assessments within the downstream value chain, evaluating optimization potential and formulating strategies to enhance value capture. These assessments encompass factors such as assets, supply, market conditions, infrastructure, logistics, and regulatory considerations.
Engage in value and arbitrage opportunities through supervising conditions impacting local markets, competitors, supply-demand dynamics, prices, as well as transportation and distribution costs. Provide timely insights to inform decision-making processes.
Establish and cultivate industry contacts and trade partner relationships, improving the organization's presence in the market and encouraging collaborative opportunities.
Qualifications:
5-10 years commercial experience
Formal education in Engineering, Chemistry or Finance
Marketing & trading commercial background
Expert level Knowledge on qualities and specifications of refinery Intermediate Feedstocks
Knowledge of marine, rail and pipeline infrastructure within North America
