POSITION: Administrative Systems Assistant
SALARY: $32.60 to $34.69 per hour plus benefits (Jan.2024 rates)
CLASSIFICATION: J10, Administrative Clerk I
HOURS OF WORK: Primarily Tuesday to Saturday, with the ability to work a variety of shifts, including
afternoon, evening, or weekends as required for operational needs.
STATUS: Regular full-time

SUMMARY
Reporting to the Administrative Systems Specialist, the Administrative Systems Assistant performs system
administration, providing technical consultation and problem-solving assistance. Duties and responsibilities
include resolving user problems, coaching, training, generally assuming control of the day-to-day
administrative operations in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Administrative Systems
Assistant may interact with application vendors to resolve more difficult user problems, specific to
administrative software. Other duties include: clerical services, reception duties including program
registrations, membership sales and providing information to the public.
JOB DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for ensuring consistent procedures; assisting with the administration and maintenance of
- Addresses IT issues in software systems affecting management, programmers, maintenance, parks,
alternative methods to achieve the desired results.
- Attend various inter-departmental meetings ensuring smooth communication in the absence of the

- Develops and establishes administrative methods and procedures and provides input on the development
- Works at reception desk counter by receiving incoming calls and visitors, providing information, screening
staff and other office functions.
- Maintains inventory of reception pro shop items and prepares items to be sold at reception.
- Other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Administrative or business diploma with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a computerized
related education and experience will also be considered.
- Project management experience; demonstrated ability to manage a variety of projects and meet
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize, organize and multi-task to meet
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, within a team environment and inter-
- Ability to be flexible, decisive and deal with constantly changing work patterns and priorities.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team is required with a
- Knowledge of recreation/leisure program activities is desirable.
