BLUEWATER DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING CONTRACT POSITION

COMMUNITY USE OF SCHOOLS – MONITOR

The Community Use of Schools Department coordinates the afterhours Use of Board facilities for community events and programs. Occasionally these permitted events or programs require staff to monitor the permitted group and space. These permitted events and programs occur during the evening and weekends outside of regular school hours.

We are looking for candidates who are interested in providing casual support to the Community Use of Schools department for the monitoring of these community events and programs.


Location : Kincardine District Senior School in Kincardine, Ontario and surrounding schools

Hourly Rate: $16.92 per hour

Commencing : As soon as possible

Contract hourly work : dependent on community bookings

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Present a positive and professional image of Bluewater District School Board at the assigned facility
  • Act as a keyholder for the board location; open the location prior to community group arrival and/or secure the facility after groups leave
  • Ensure space and equipment was setup according to the permit requirements
  • Serve as the onsite point of contact for community groups that have been permitted to use space(s) within the facility
  • Monitor arrival and departure of community groups, as well Use of spaces and equipment as shown on permits
  • Patrol areas of Community Use regularly throughout the duration of activities
  • Communicate regularly with the Community Use of Schools Coordinator and Supervisor regarding any issues and/or known changes to upcoming bookings
  • Liaise between community groups and Bluewater District School Board custodial staff in the case that custodial assistance is required
  • Act as a professional and diplomatic buffer between school groups and community groups in cases where events run into time space for other events
  • Assist community groups in the case of accident, incident, or emergency
  • Abide by all legislation and board policies and procedures
  • Ability to work part-time hours including evenings and weekends, on a per need and location basis

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent

Assets:

  • Experience working for Bluewater District School Board or another school board

Job Requirements

  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Clear Criminal Background check
