Job description

Setetkwe Environmental Inc. is seeking outgoing, athletic, team-oriented individuals willing to work in the 2024 Invasive Plant Control programs. Depending on the candidate’s interests, the work may include any or all of the following:

  • Controlling Invasive Plants by pulling, cutting, and/or spraying in gravel pits, alongside roadways, and on the Trans Mountain Pipeline.
  • Assisting with hydroseeding applications.

Invasive Plant Control Technicians may be required to pull or cut weeds and will need to operate a UTV or truck with mounted spray units. A UTV Training course will be required and paid for during the first week of work.

All technicians will be required to obtain their Pesticide Applicators Certificates in Industrial Vegetation & Noxious Weeds.

Candidates must pass a MANDATORY Drug & Alcohol Test.

Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of Invasive Plant species and herbicides is an asset.
  • Experience driving pickup trucks, towing trailers, and driving UTVs is an asset.
  • The candidate must own a computer and a cell phone and have access to email.

Special requirements: Candidates must possess a minimum of a Class 7N driver’s license and should be prepared to bring a driving record to the interview (which can be obtained for free online from ICBC).

$22/hour or more depending on experience/skills.

All students will obtain a variety of highly valued certifications, including H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, PCST, and UTV Operation.
