Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular cycle counts of inventory items.
  • Compile data and reconcile discrepancies between recorded and physical inventory.
  • Conduct audits to ensure accuracy in the cycle counting process.
  • Identify and address any discrepancies found during the audit.
  • Generate and present reports detailing the results of cycle counts to management.
  • Provide insights into inventory accuracy and any issues discovered.
  • Evaluate the overall inventory management process to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Regularly check for negative inventory levels and take corrective actions to rectify discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve the root causes of negative inventory.
  • Investigate and resolve any inventory-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Implement corrective measures to prevent future problems.
  • Execute adjustments to correct inventory levels.
  • Document and communicate changes made to maintain accurate records.
  • Provide support to Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) and Shipper/Receivers regarding inventory-related inquiries.
  • Share knowledge and best practices for effective inventory management.
  • Perform reconciliations at the end of each month to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to address any discrepancies.
  • Regularly review and verify the accuracy of inventory coding.
  • Participate in projects aimed at enhancing inventory management processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve problematic inventory issues.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • The minimum educational requirement for this role is a high school diploma.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office applications for tasks such as spreadsheet analysis (Excel), document creation (Word), and email communication (Outlook).
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing for clear and concise interactions with team members, superiors, and other departments. The ability to work well in a team-based environment involves effective collaboration, sharing of ideas, and contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Possess a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of their work.
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement in processes, systems, and overall efficiency. This involves staying updated on industry best practices, exploring innovative solutions, and actively participating in initiatives aimed at optimizing operations.

Additional consideration will be given to those having any of the following:

  • Experience in a similar role relating to inventory management or other inventory functions.
  • Diploma or enrolment in post-secondary education in either Accounting or Business.

Other Information:

  • This is a full-time position 5 days per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, located at our headquarters in Ile des Chenes, Manitoba.
