North West Crane is one of western Canada's leading mobile crane distributors. We sell and service self-propelled and truck mounted mobile cranes, provide crane inspections, commercial chassis inspections, and full-service mechanical support to the crane and trucking industries. We are proud to be a privately held Alberta grown company that operates in two branches with our head office located in Leduc and our second branch in Clairmont, AB. The Inventory/ Inside Sales Manager is responsible for the efficient ordering/expediting of capital goods as well as supporting the sales team with services to ensure smooth transactions to our customer base. The Inventory/Inside Sales Manager will also assist the sales team with customer orders, produce quotes for products and services, and support inventory control management.

  • Equipment purchasing
  • Inventory Management – Arrangement of incoming inspections etc. (executed by operations)
  • Forecasting – equipment demands / needs with sales team
  • Logistics – arranging for equipment / inter-branch transfer
  • Maintenance and development of supplier relationships
  • Pricing / costing of equipment and intermediary with operations
  • Lost sales analysis and demand planning
  • Market needs analysis with sales support
  • New market entry with sales support
  • Continuous improvement - working with operations to reduce costs and cycle time, coordination of continuous improvement
  • Overall equipment turns, and obsolete equipment plans
  • Maintain an optimized inbound and outbound logistics network in order to minimize total system cost and maximize profitability while delivering superior customer service.
  • Maintains competitive understanding of existing logistics model relative to the market in terms of known alternatives (competitor and alternative delivery mechanisms).
  • Develop and implement integrated logistics and supply chain plans and metrics that are aligned with the overall strategy, business goals and objectives.
  • Promote continuous improvement and move the organization towards a “best in class” logistics operation that directly contributes to the achievement of corporate goals and creates value for our customers. Ensure products move as quickly, efficiently, and cost effectively as possible for the type of designated delivery from origination point to customer and back.
  • Effective supplier management and contract negotiation

  • Enhancing supply chain agility
  • Supply chain value engineering
  • Deliver measurable cost savings to the company through supplier negotiations and planning of inventory and purchases.
  • With support of team, will develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers to facilitate industry leading agreements focused on costing and supplier delivery.
  • Implement inventory control programs and procedures to minimize the amount of excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Forecast future sales needs by working with Operations, Sales and Finance.
  • Create, implement, and review quality assurance processes, with identified metrics, to ensure consistent high-quality and on time production of proprietary assessment tools.
  • Manage cost reduction activities to ensure our services can remain cost competitive; will have dedicated KPIs to maintain focus.
  • Implement installation and fabrication strategies and programs to reduce costs.
  • Participate in strategic planning and budgeting processes; implement and evaluate agreed upon initiatives; will be measured against goals and objectives and corporate KPIs.
  • Key performance indicators will include productivity and savings in installation and procurement, quality metrics, and working capital metrics on payables and inventory management.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced service industry, preferably related to mobile cranes and/or construction equipment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to efficiently manage time and resources
  • Experience or familiarity with scheduling logistics and managing customer accounts
