The Inventory & Merchandising Manager reports to the Store Manager and plays a crucial role in helping the organization achieve its objectives. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in warehousing, shipping/receiving, inventory, merchandising, and management. The candidate should be ambitious, results-driven, and have a passion for the tool industry. The Warehouse, Inventory & Merchandising Manager should have experience in coordinating warehousing, inventory, and merchandising operations. They should also have a structured management style and lead a team that excels in executing all tasks according to the procedures established by the head office.

The Inventory & Merchandising Manager is responsible for the financial results of the store inventory and compliance with company standards. They should prioritize the quality of customer service and customer experience. The candidate should audit current standards to ensure team execution is compliant with company procedures. They will need to execute team tasks for a three-month period to learn all the tasks and train new employees accordingly. The Warehouse, Inventory & Merchandising Manager must demonstrate leadership towards their team, recruit, train, stimulate and develop a robust team dealing with daily tasks. The Inventory & Merchandising Manager should also be comfortable managing a high-traffic retail store of approximately 15,000 sq. ft. and containing nearly 8,000 products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate daily leadership skills to build and support the warehouse, Inventory & Merchandising team.
  • Lead daily walks on the floor with area managers and area owners to ensure all standards are followed (In stock, price, and promotions are tagged properly, ensure daily action plans are ready for the team, train to improve team knowledge, and ensure cleanliness for customers).
  • Audit company standards to ensure procedures conformity in warehousing and inventory management. (Tool type reports)
  • Sales-oriented, can make the merchandise attractive and easy to shop for so customers can fulfill their purchasing needs.
  • Interview candidates to find the best fits for the company to build a strong team, including job search and managing our recruiting management system.
  • Organize daily clerical tasks effectively (Pay works forms, hiring forms, statutory change, e-mails, action plans). Easy to work with and collaborative with head office and other stores to facilitate efficient communication.
  • Audit company standards to ensure procedures conformity in warehouse, shipping/receiving, and inventory management.
  • Plan the team's schedule to align with business needs.
  • Follow the team's performances and manage accordingly.
  • Do monthly benchmarking to stay ahead of the competition.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 + to 5 +years of warehousing, shipping/receiving, Inventory & Merchandising management.
  • Minimum 1+ year in the tool industry or another industry related to tooling.
  • Must have delivered concrete results in inventory management and merchandising.
  • Must have the ability to work in an organized manner, have a work ethic where judgment, logical reasoning, and initiative are advocated and used daily.
  • Must have vast warehousing and inventory management knowledge and the ability to transmit it to their team.
  • Must know how to counter theft and prevent it.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes, delays, and unforeseen events in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

The ideal candidate must be able to travel to Canada and the United States for tool industry conventions or meetings in British Columbia as required by the role.

This is a full-time, permanent position with 40 hours per week. The workweek consists of five days, with two days off, including Sunday (closed) and one day off during the week. The role also requires working one evening shift from 3:30 pm to midnight every two weeks and having a full weekend off every four weeks.
