Job description

OMISTA is looking for an Investment Administrator to join our team on a 15-month contract basis.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Senior Investment Service Representative, the Investment Administrator provides daily administration of the credit union's investments, for both registered and non-registered plans. You will promote available financial services such as RRSPs, RRIFs, LIFs, TFSAs, and term investments to current members and potential members while providing exemplary support to the Investment Service Representatives. As a member of the Financial Services Team of our Branch Network, you will work with professional and skilled individuals who work together to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our members.

Responsibilities

Member Service:

  • Conduct interviews with members and potential members to identify investment needs. Assist members with basic investment requests and refer to Investment Representatives where appropriate.
  • Respond to member inquiries and resolve issues promptly and effectively. Tailor recommendations to meet the individual needs of the member.

Administration:

  • Conduct regular checks and audits on reports related to certain account activities ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal procedures.
  • Process investment documentation for new investments, renewals, redemptions, and transfers.
  • Prepare correspondence to members regarding certain account changes, investment renewals, redemptions, and transfers.
  • Various administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and maintaining organized records.

Collaboration and Team Support:

  • The Investment Administrator will provide cash (teller) services to members in a back-up capacity. The Investment Administrator is expected to stay updated on industry trends and changes in financial regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional Customer Service skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Strong Computer Skills.
  • Strong aptitude for administration.
  • Good understanding of investment products and services.
  • Positive outlook and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ideally has a minimum of one year working in a financial service setting.

Education and Training

  • College diploma or university degree in a business discipline or sufficient experience in lieu of education.
