Position Purpose:
Overall duty of this position is to coordinate the day-to-day administration, delivery and execution of the Rope Access practices and procedures. The IRATA Level 3 provides direct support to the Regional Manager, Atlantic ensuring compliance is met with client QA/QC reporting, site safety and progress reports.

Due to the nature of this position there will be on-call and overtime requirements as well as some travel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining client relations and meeting with customer representatives on a regular basis to receive feedback, address concerns, and identify potential development opportunities in conjunction with the Regional Manager, Atlantic.
  • Servicing existing Rope Access accounts by providing project management, technical representation in sales calls, preparing and submitting quotations and estimates, responding to RFPs, responding to client service requests.
  • Developing manpower and equipment forecasts with the Regional Manager, Atlantic and working with Human Resources for appropriate personnel selection.
  • Assessing current and future training needs in order to meet client demand and, (assist in) develops an effective mentoring program.
  • Maintaining a high level of expertise in relevant technology and applying continuous learning strategies to stay current with all aspects of work within Rope Access.
  • Ensuring that all equipment assigned to Rope Access is kept in functional condition and maintained in accordance with corporate, industry and or client standards, policies and specifications.
  • Monitor and promote initiatives to ensure their successful completion on time and within budget.
  • Ensures all work activities are performed in compliance with Applus HSE policies and client HSE requirements.
  • Facilitating kick off meetings, lunch and learns and daily toolbox meetings.
  • Preparing schedules and organizing any additional tasks assigned by the client.
  • Scheduling walk downs with clients and the appropriate support teams.
  • Assisting the Regional Manager, Atlantic with purchase order status reporting, monitoring purchase orders for progress and providing communication on purchase order increases and scope changes with clients.
  • Completing work site compliance checks as required.
  • Overseeing and managing all Rope Access PPE and equipment requirements.
  • Preparing IRATA, stewardship, KPI reporting for clients, head office and safety.
  • Adhering to organizational policies and procedures, including but not limited to Applus Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreements.
  • Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.

  • Strong computer skills in MS Office and other software applications.
Education and Work Experience:
  • Current Industrial Rope Access Trade Association, (IRATA) Level 3 Certification.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in Rope Access in a related field.
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in oil and gas or industrial environments.
  • A minimum of seven years’ experience in supervisory/management.
  • Experience in project management is a strong asset.
  • Equivalent industry experience combined with other formal training and accreditations may be accepted.
Working Conditions:
  • Required to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather.
  • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials in various working environments.
  • Commonly exposed to walking on slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • Occasionally required to work in noisy/loud working environments especially on project sites.
  • Work outside of normal business hours will be occasionally required.
  • Overtime required during the week and weekend with work volume.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedules and respond to requests without advance warning or notification.
  • Occasional to frequent travel will be required within Canada.
  • Working conditions will vary between project locations.
